How to Fix a Chain Link Fence
Chain Link fences are one of the most popular fencing choices, and in part this is because of its sturdiness and its durability. But as we all know the unexpected can happen anytime, leaving our fence bent or broken. Incidents like a tree branch falling over, or even a car could easily cause damage to it. If your chain link fence has experienced something similar, here are some tips on how to repair your fence.
First of all you will need:
– wire cutters
– pliers
– come-a-long
Using a come-a-long, attach the two hooks to the good sections of the fence and pull the two sides of the chain link fence close enough together to repair.
Cut any damaged wire away with the wire cutters. Secure the loose ends by twisting them around a couple of times at the link.
Start ‘sewing‘ the hole back together with the new stretch of wire, giving the wire a twist at each link and bending it 90 degrees to get to the next link until the hole is closed.
